# Handle everyday work
_with more confidence._

Bring a task your team repeats. Work through it in an in-person AI session, check the result, and leave with instructions you can use again.

## Find the right level
for your work.

Start with your current experience and the kind of work you want to do. You do not need to take every level.

INTRO

## AI Basics

Start using AI.

[Plan this workshop](https://hiatt-co.com/plan/?level=basics)

[View sample course outline](https://hiatt-co.com/programs/samples/basics/)

Bring an everyday task and learn to use AI to complete it.

A good fit when

You are new to AI and want help with everyday work.

### Three example tasks

01

#### An easier first draft

Turn rough notes into a clear customer email. Adjust the tone, compare versions, and choose what sounds like you.

02

#### A clearer working day

Turn meeting notes into a checklist, summarize a document, or break an unfamiliar task into steps.

03

#### A better first question

Explain what you are doing and what help you need. Learn when to add context, verify a claim, or keep information out of the chat.

Skills and techniques

Starting a conversation; basic context; follow-up questions; everyday drafting; recognizing uncertainty; approved tools and safe sample data.

What you leave with

Your first useful prompts, an everyday task completed, and a simple safety checklist.

Introductory, instructor-led session. Bring a laptop; we agree on an appropriate tool before the session.

This is not a coding class, a tool subscription, or professional advice.

BEGINNER

## AI as a Thought Partner

Think with AI.

[Plan this workshop](https://hiatt-co.com/plan/?level=thought-partner)

[View sample course outline](https://hiatt-co.com/programs/samples/thought-partner/)

Use AI to question ideas, work through decisions, and revise documents.

A good fit when

You use AI occasionally and want more consistent results.

### Three example tasks

01

#### Think through a decision

Compare a vendor proposal, hiring plan, or business opportunity. Separate the evidence from assumptions and identify what to verify.

02

#### Draft, then make it better

Have AI interview you before creating a job description, procedure, or proposal. Read the first draft, challenge it, and refine it.

03

#### Give every conversation a job

Create a focused strategist, customer, or technical reviewer. Keep unrelated work separate and pass along the relevant context.

Skills and techniques

Goals and constraints; interview-me prompting; focused personas; focused conversations; iterative drafting; testing the strongest objections; documenting decisions; verification.

What you leave with

A reusable interview → draft → challenge → refine process, applied to your own work.

Hands-on workshop using a decision, document, or planning task from your business.

A persona is a perspective, not a credential. Legal and financial drafts still need appropriate independent review.

02

INTERMEDIATE

## AI as an Assistant

Give AI work.

[Plan this workshop](https://hiatt-co.com/plan/?level=assistant)

[View sample course outline](https://hiatt-co.com/programs/samples/assistant/)

Build an assistant workflow around your documents, priorities, or business data. Learn to give clear instructions and check the finished work.

A good fit when

You already work with AI and want to assign clearly defined tasks.

### Three example tasks

01

#### Prepare your working day

Review an approved inbox and calendar, spot possible missed follow-ups, and prepare a priority brief. Draft responses for your review.

02

#### Produce a deliverable

Compare sample invoices and payments, analyze a workbook, create a presentation, or build a simple website. Check the result against the source.

03

#### Set up AI for the business

Map company-owned accounts, employee licenses, data rules, connectors, and onboarding/offboarding. Define what each specialized assistant can access.

Skills and techniques

Approved file analysis; document and presentation creation; reusable assistants; explicit context handoffs; supported desktop actions; connector permissions; account ownership; managing access when people join or leave.

What you leave with

A repeatable assistant workflow, a finished task, and an access checklist.

Private team workshop with guided practice. We confirm licenses, access, and sample data before connecting anything.

Features depend on your tools, subscriptions, permissions, and policies. Revoking access cannot erase copies someone already retained.

03

ADVANCED

## AI as an Employee

Delegate a responsibility.

[Plan this workshop](https://hiatt-co.com/plan/?level=employee)

[View sample course outline](https://hiatt-co.com/programs/samples/employee/)

Define one AI responsibility. Set limits, stop conditions, and rules for asking a person. Test whether it follows them.

A good fit when

You already assign AI tasks and want to manage an ongoing workflow.

### Three example tasks

01

#### Follow up on overdue invoices

Prototype an overdue-invoice monitor that checks approved records, drafts reminders, and routes exceptions to a person.

02

#### Watch for a meaningful change

Check an agreed source for a filing or status change, verify the evidence, and prepare a defined next action.

03

#### Build in a second perspective

Give a proposal drafter and a skeptical customer reviewer separate jobs. Reconcile objections, limit revision loops, and route the final decision to a human.

Skills and techniques

Narrow roles; scheduled and event-driven work; state and tools; least privilege; sub-agents; adversarial review; evaluation cases; logs; budgets; escalation; failure recovery.

What you leave with

A defined AI role, a supervised prototype, and a plan for review and approval.

A working lab with an agreed scope, often over several sessions. Live deployment and production integration are separate engagements.

“Employee” describes delegation, not human judgment. A prototype needs testing and a separate deployment decision. Agreement between AI reviewers is not proof.

## Specialty training.

We agree on scope, prerequisites, and deliverables with your team.

## Shape the session
around your business.

Choose a customer follow-up, a weekly report, or another task your team wants to handle better. We shape the exercises around a useful result you can check.

We agree on the goal, format, preparation, deliverables, and price before you book. Your quote identifies additional costs.

People stay in control. Your team learns what AI can do, what it should not do, and how to check the work. Bring an example with sensitive details removed, or use our sample material.

## What can your team use it for?

### [Customer follow-ups](https://hiatt-co.com/workflows/customer-follow-up/)

## From rough notes
to a checked draft.

Illustrative workshop example, not a customer result.

### Input notes

Fictional Cedar Repair notes: customer Jordan asked about a tune-up. Available appointments: Tuesday at 10 a.m. or Thursday at 2 p.m. Ask which works. No price or completion time has been agreed.

### Checks applied

- Both appointment options match the notes.
- The customer still needs to choose; no booking is confirmed.
- No price or completion time is invented.

### A reviewed draft

Hi Jordan,

We can offer a tune-up appointment on Tuesday at 10 a.m. or Thursday at 2 p.m. Which time works for you?

Thanks,
Cedar Repair

## Same work.
Different levels of help.

See how AI can help you think through a task, complete it, or manage a supervised process.

Thought partner

### Think through the approach.

“Help me create a better process for following up with customers after a meeting.”

You guide the conversation.

Assistant

### Prepare the follow-ups.

“Review these approved notes. Identify next steps and draft the follow-up messages.”

You delegate a bounded task.

Employee

### Design an ongoing responsibility.

“Monitor the agreed follow-up queue. Prepare messages and escalate exceptions for my review.”

You set the rules and approvals.

Illustrative workflows, not customer results. Connections and actions depend on your tools, access, and business policies.

## Bring a task.
Leave with a
_better way._

A follow-up you send every week. A report you rebuild each month. Practice a way to handle it again when you’re back at work.

[Plan a workshop](https://hiatt-co.com/plan/)

01

### Choose a repeat task.

Agree on a useful result before the session. We confirm your team’s experience, approved tools, sample material, and any access needed.

02

### Work through it together.

Give AI the context it needs. Use an approved business example or our sample material, ask questions, and improve the result with an instructor beside you.

03

### Check before you rely on it.

Compare the result with its source and try an exception. Decide what AI may do, what needs approval, and who reviews the work.

04

### Leave ready to repeat it.

Take away your checked work, reusable instructions, and review steps. Practice adapting them for the next time the task comes around.

## Before we get started.

[Ask us something else](https://hiatt-co.com/plan/)

Do we need any AI experience?

No. AI Basics starts with everyday tasks and simple conversations. The other levels build from there. You do not have to take all four programs.

Is this a fixed course or a custom workshop?

We plan the session around your goals, experience, and recurring work. Mixed experience levels, private teams, and business groups are welcome. We agree on examples, preparation, length, and what you will take away before you commit.

Where do you train, and what does it cost?

We focus on in-person sessions for small businesses in Central Indiana, including on-site training. Tell us your location, team size, and goals. We confirm the format and price in a written quote.

Which AI tools will we use?

We plan around your approved tools, which may include ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Microsoft Copilot. Available features and business controls differ by subscription and configuration. An introductory session may not need a paid subscription.

What about company and customer data?

Use examples with sensitive information removed, or our sample material. We discuss approved tools, access, and human review before using business information.

Does “AI employee” mean unsupervised automation?

No. It means a narrow, defined responsibility with limits, tests, approval rules, and an accountable human owner. Training produces a supervised prototype, not an automatic production rollout. Agreement between agents does not prove correctness.

## What would make
_your team’s work easier?_

Tell us about one task and your team’s experience. We’ll help you choose a workshop and confirm the scope before you book.
